Clearly, Edwards is actually still in high school. This reminds me of a brief conversation last night:

AHM: Wow, Edwards is definitely picking up the pretty boy vote.
Me: Well, yeah, but he's really pretty.
AHM: That was so not the right response.

MUST WORK. Don't understand my mental block against working on my dissertation. Yesterday was the day of being stupid and getting spanked by the world for it. Now I'm trying to learn my lesson.

...food?
Egg potato. Mashed potato with soft-boiled egg mixed into it, and lots of butter and salt. When you have Russian and Irish and Scottish genes, that's what you get.

...drink?
Hot chocolate.

...stuffed toy or security blanket?
Jenny, the large polar bear given me three days after I was born.

...movie?
The Philadelphia Story. Or any Fred Astaire movie, especially Top Hat.

...TV show?
The brain candy ones, lately, Gilmore Girls and Smallville. But it's been a lousy season for television. I did used to like Dharma& Greg though because Greg reminded me so terribly much of Adam.

...book?
Rose in Bloom, by Louisa May Alcott. Does the trick every time - sappy and virtuous 19th century romance.

...poet?
For comfort - Shakespeare, or Pablo Neruda, who writes the best love poetry out there.
But mostly, these days, Sappho. Who wrote the best love poetry in the first two millennia:
