The Congressional Budget Office has concluded that legalizing same-sex marriage at the federal level would reduce the federal deficit by about 750 million dollars a year by 2011. This is apparently especially true because gay couples are more likely to have the same life expectancy, thus reducing Social Security costs. So hey, fiscally conservative folks, here's a purely mercenary argument.
