Mild pro-Potter rant

I have been very irritated lately by literalists. These include literalists on both sides of many issues - the woman from the Human Rights Campaign who claimed that Congress was "literally trying to rewrite the Constitution on the back of a napkin," Israelis and Palestinians using 2600 year old accounts of wars to determine modern borders, and, most recently, people praising the "Christian alternative" to Harry Potter.
