Well, it's now officially early December. So far, I have received 1 interview, from the private Catholic University of San Diego, 3 rejections, from Berkeley, UCSD, and Case Western Reserve, the last two largely on the grounds that they cut everybody who didn't have their PhD yet, and have 40 institutions where I don't know the answers yet - inquire again later. I'm trying hard not to panic or be depressed, but it's frustrating when the reason is apparently not my application (which everyone seems to really like) but the one thing I can't do a thing about, my graduate student status. OTOH, at least I know I won't get a job based only on my parental contacts at UCSD...

On the plus side, Anonycon was fun even if I didn't get to run any of the great Classics games, and made especially wonderful by getting to see people who I don't often, like darkforge and fajitas and Piratecat, as well as BabyUbiquitous and his parents. Yay for hangout time, and I'm sorry I didn't get to play Curses with you, darkforge.

Now I need to focus on work and progress rather than fretting about applications I can't do a darn thing about.
