Well, my life just got way more complicated, but in a good way.

I have an official job offer, from Northwestern University, for a 2-Year Assistant Professorship in Classics, at a salary of $38,000. The teaching load (trimester) would be 3/3/2, with 2 full-year courses of Introductory Latin and 2 courses of my own design, probably literature in translation. It's an exciting department, with lots of close connections to the Theater Department.

But...they want me to commit as soon as possible. Possibly before I hear from the other 3 job talks, one of which, Miami, is for a tenure-track position in ancient history.

I don't even know _what_ my mood is - excited? Scared? Happy? Too much Happening?

I'm going to go bury my head in a corner for a bit, I think. And then write my job talk.
