Bads:

Mac woke up screaming at 4:30 AM with a 103.5 fever (rectal temp). Infant Tylenol and lots of nursing brought it down to about 101.9, and then it bounced back up by 10 AM this morning to 102.3, I suspect due to the Tylenol wearing off. These are all, barely, in the "moderate" ranges, where you don't need to go see a doctor immediately. Given his stuffed and runny nose, I suspect it's just a bad cold. But I'm very sad that I can't make it all go away, like he clearly expects me to. So, I keep nursing and cuddling and hopefully it will break soon.

Hilarious: What I was planning to write about this morning, before he got sick, was an amusing incident from yesterday. So, Mac is nursing on my lap, while I'm eating trail mix and playing Zelda. Yeah, I may have been doing a bit too much multitasking. Anyhow, I look down, and realize that the baby has grabbed a chocolate chip from the trail mix, smushed it up in his little fist, and then smeared it all over my breast, so that he's getting chocolate with his milk.

Resourceful child. Also, highly messy. He gave me this great look of indignation and disgruntlement when I scooped him up and took him off to the changing table to clean his hand and my breast.

I hope the fever isn't an allergic reaction to the chocolate. But really, I doubt it. He's certainly had plenty of indirect exposure.
