I'd been wondering why exactly Karl Rove was so interested in the U.S. Attorneys. Now Ted Kennedy has pointed out that the firings were largely in crucial swing states: Florida, Iowa, New Mexico, Arkansas, Minnesota, Washington, Nevada, and California. Given that several folks were fired for supposedly not investigating accusations of voting fraud, what do you think the chances are that part of this is about setting up future Katherine Harrisses for the 2008 elections, to make sure the people deciding the legality of the election are "loyal Bushies"?
