Well, either Mac's a slob or a medical genius.

This morning, during my 7-8 AM nap after his first feeding and before I really wake up, Mac carefully smeared his poop all over last week's cut on his forehead and the big bruise ( as well as his hand, the crib sheet, and the blanket.) It was highly icky to clean up, particularly given Mac's resistance to having his face scrubbed in general, and later today, I managed to spill ketchup, soy sauce, and ice cream on myself. It was a highly messy day.

I was just giving him his last feeding of the day. The bruise is almost totally gone, and you can't even see the cut anymore. Maybe poop poultices do work. But I'm not going to be self-medicating with it, nonetheless.
