So, the good news is that I'm feeling much better, if not all the way well and still a little light-headed; I have a doctor's appt at noon tomorrow. After going to sleep angelically peacefully at bedtime last night, however, during the rally bad part of the vertigo, Mac then decided to wake up at 2:30, 4, and 6:30; I think the teething is really getting to him. But on the positive side, at 8 AM or thereabouts he took off his messy diaper (w/o removing his onesie) and then made no mess whatsoever, just pranced around in only the onesie till I came in and rediapered him.

On a more interesting note, I find myself puzzled about a behavioral question. In general, with both dog and baby, I try to follow the practice of rewarding good behaviors and ignoring bad ones. This theory, however, works much less well in public situations where the bad behaviors are hurting others. Yesterday, for instance, we were at the Walker Brothers Pancake House, and Mac started screeching. (Not crying or screaming, mind you, just making a high-pitched squealing noise for attention.) I gave him bits of pancake, and as long as he had food in front of him, he didn't screech, though he did whenever the pancake was gone. I felt really bad rewarding the screeching, but I didn't want to disturb our fellow diners.

OK, maybe I'm not all better. I don't think the computer screen is supposed to spin like that or that the letters normally move up and down. Let's try lying down again. I don't think I'm going to the gym today.
