And, the English teachers, yup. Not exactly evil-incarnate, but evil nonetheless. I've never forgotten the first grade I got on a college essay, which was a C+. It seriously shook my faith in myself as a writer, and coming from the backrground I had, I feel like that should have happened earlier or not at all.
