So, we're back from our 10-day vacation for two days of rest and puppy time before heading off to New Hampshire for a gaming weekend. I have that wonderful shoulder-tension release feeling, despite the sunburn and the tiredness.

We spent the first weekend in San Francisco. Since [livejournal.com profile] julianyap was moving out of his apartment by the Embarcadero a few days before the end of the month, he offered to let us stay there for the weekend. We gratefully accepted, even though we'd forgotten that when J. moves out of a place, he invariably at some point fills his suitcases and then starts loaning/bestowing random goods on the nearest folks available. In this case, I lay down for a nap and awoke to discover that A., despite our quite full suitcases, had agreed to transport several DVDs, books, a pizza wheel, some very nice wine, a bottle of cognac (ultimately given to [livejournal.com profile] contrariety for storage), and a computer. We were also left with a kitchen stocked with various gourmet jams, a frozen pizza, and some interesting spreads, so we got bread, cheese, and Scharffenberger chocolate from the nearby farmer's market and invited [livejournal.com profile] contrariety and [livejournal.com profile] darkforge over for an impromptu picnic on the last evening. It was also a wonderful place, with a stunning view of the Bay and flocks of parrots beneath the window, and we were very grateful.

Beyond that, most of the weekend was spent hanging out with Really Cool People. We had a lovely dinner on Friday at Coi and saw [livejournal.com profile] julianyap, [livejournal.com profile] contrariety, and the Davis-Wilsons. Saturday we hung out with [livejournal.com profile] amethyst73 and her husband and walked down to Pier 39 to see the sea lions. We semi-failed in our quest for a hat, getting Mac an adorable camel but strapless camel hat which he promptly threw off at every occasion. As a result, he was a slightly pink little baby, despite lots of sunscreen. Sunday we hung out with contrariety and darkforge and played the game of Hamlet, which is...very darkforgey.

To Be Continued, with stories of giant redwoods, lucky oysters, and the need for a Volume Button!
