Dr. Greene, in the New York Times, reports that, at least for kids, straight honey, preferably dark, and dark chocolate (2 oz) are more effective than cough syrup and codeine for preventing coughs and sore throats.

Now I'm trying to think of a recipe for chocolate honey chicken soup. Maybe a sort of Chinese-Mexican fusion of lemon chicken in a mole broth?
