WARNING: This whole thread is intended to contain spoilers for Aalterdam VII: The Kingdom of Virtue (Part I) and The Double-Edged Sword (Part II). If you are hoping to play these games somewhere else (like Orichalcon), please read no further.
So, I wrote 40 pages worth of material for these games and spent a majority of my free evenings in the last month working on them, and I didn't get to run more than one playtest of the first round. :)
Please, please, warstory in comments. Cheer up my endless rounds of grading.
So, the bits of this game that I was both most excited about and most worried about were probably, in Round I, the Map of Evil (because I'm better normally at thinking in text than visually), and in Round II, the Undead-Spitting-Giant, because combat encounters are not my forte. What did folks think of them?
The biggest problem encounter from a design perspective for us was the shrine of Custos; how did it work at your table?
Did the flavor of the KOV come across? I was worried it would get lost in all the plot and inter-character stuff.
How did the sacrifices work?
Apparently, at least at one table, Laura and Giovanni got together? How did that happen? (I think I imagined Laura and the Bishop, if anyone).
Any questions about characters or linkages to previous games?
The canon fallout is going to be interesting. I can't help but think that Crusade vs. Inquisition (for those who played Aalterdam VI) has some interesting potential dynamics...among many other possibilities.
