Both of our kids have become pretty fascinated by magical transformations of the kind that you see in movies: parents-to-pigs, boy-to-dragon (Spirited Away), unicorn-to-woman (The Last Unicorn), evil faerie-to-dragon (Sleeping Beauty), and myriad others (The Emperor's New Groove and more Spirited Away). This has given the Little Girl new license to call things whatever the heck she wants. If she wants the horse to be an octopus, she says it's turned into an octopus. And as long as she's obviously incorporating imagination, there's really no arguing with it.
