Classical Music, in this case.

How much is it worth it to go see the New York Philharmonic performing for free in Central Park tomorrow night, with the following program:
"Xian Zhang conducts the philharmonic in Wagner’s Flying Dutchman Overture, Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, with Karen Gomyo featured on violin."

Obviously, it's free, but would be a hassle and a lot of time. Thoughts?

Hmmm. I think it would be a perfectly fine concert, but not an outstanding one. I'm kind of curious about the Lalo, but other than that, there's nothing particularly enticing about the program.

Symphony Espagnole is fun. The Flying Dutchman is great fun to play, and if you like to listen to the entire string section impersonating waves rising and falling with running 16th notes, it's cool.

Tchaik 5 is one of the greatest symphonies of all time. That said, it's been played lots. If you've never heard it live, go. I don't know who Karen Gomyo is.
