Your governor openly mocks you, comparing being Governor of MA to "being a cattle rancher at a vegetarian convention." At least our governor is resigning before trying to pander to the far-right crowd, and seems to actually care about the people whom he represents, if not in the ways I agree with. Our sympathies, New York.


P.S. Of course, I suppose we're both still luckier than NJ and CT have been in the last year...

I'm not sure that's true, but in any case, I'm not criticizing the citizens of MA. It's more just a general sort of shock that any elected official could so blatantly diss his own constituents. I mean, come on, what is representative government about?

Oh, I considered CT fairly lucky, getting rid of a crook and all.

Yes, but you have to have a crook to get rid of them. Of course, anyone comes out better than my poor San Diego, which managed to lose not one but all 3 of its mayoral officials in the line of succession.

I rather feel there's no shortage of crooked politicians. Certainly plenty more than we manage to get rid of, alas.
