orichalcum at 11:50pm on 25/10/2005Bad: Having my Flexcar fail to work correctly after puppy training, resulting in 2 and a half hours spent sitting outside the pet store with Eowyn, while both of us got hungrier and hungrier (from 7 PM - 9:30 PM)
Good: Meeting, during the long wait, a 5-month old Irish setter named Ginny Weasley. :) _Her_ owner got Eowyn's name.
Bad: It being my mom's birthday, and the fifth year I couldn't call her on it. Not in a way where she talked back, at least.
Good: Carol calling to keep her promise to my mom - to tell me and my brother every year on my mom's birthday how much my mom loved us.
The lesson of today is that bad things happen, but there are lots of good and wonderful people in the world, I guess.
Off to order Settlers of Cataan for Gemma's 11th birthday,

Now I feel guilty. Although I do take some comfort in the fact that it turns out that the Chicago outfit is actually an affliate and not a direct part of the Flexcar company.
Still - 2 and 1/2 hours?!?!? Our policy is usually to get you a cab if we can't fix the problem quickly... Send me an e-mail and let me know what happened, so I can help ensure it doesn't happen on my watch.
