If you thought all the brouhaha about sexist hiring practices at Harvard was inflated by liberal feminists, take a look at this very simple bar graph.

On the good side, it's almost back to where it was under Rudenstine (who wasn't seen as particularly good on such issues.)

HBO - bunch of plagiarists, I say.

The official description of the setting of the new dramatic HBO series, Rome: )

More seriously, I need a good copy of this as potential material for my Ancient World in Film and Television course, and the opening episode is at 9 PM, the night before my dissertation defense and after my last Alea Iacta session, and I don't get HBO. If anyone can make me a copy, probably of the first two episodes, given that we're moving, I'll happily pay you 10$ plus shipping and material costs or alternatively barter for other things as you wish.
Let me know if you can.

Thanks!

Your governor openly mocks you, comparing being Governor of MA to "being a cattle rancher at a vegetarian convention." At least our governor is resigning before trying to pander to the far-right crowd, and seems to actually care about the people whom he represents, if not in the ways I agree with. Our sympathies, New York.

P.S. Of course, I suppose we're both still luckier than NJ and CT have been in the last year...
