Ironically, this came up on an "Ancient History" job search; I clearly need to refine my search parameters.

The scientific take on "Friends With Benefits:" Often healthy and fine, but such couples tend to have trouble communicating both about the physical aspects of the relationship and about the dynamics of their friendship in general. Yeah, I can buy that. Also, apparently there's often stress in which both parties worry that the other will develop unreciprocated romantic feelings.

Sunday, a new system for outsourced personal aides for $29/month You know, it would be really useful to have someone make all my appts and stay on the line with the cable company...

PA Man skips stone 51 times. Sigh. I think my record is 13.

A local middle school here has banned hugs. Apparently, students were forming giant "hug lines" that were making them late for class. Because this is the real danger in American schools - too many hugs???

Mysterious stone heads show up on English doorsteps - now this sounds like the makings of a fun game.

So, A. and I are currently writing Aalterdam VI. The working title of the two rounds are "The Furnace" and "The Forge." The Furnace is set in a prison of the Baritarian (Spanish-esque) Inquisition, who follow a lawful evil-ish fire goddess. So the question is, does the title "The Furnace" have bad Holocaust associations? It's certainly not intended to; there are no real Jewish-equivalents in this game or world currently, and the fire goddess worshipers hate _everyone_ who doesn't worship their goddess. But we'd change the title if it seems offensive to folks.

I'm in the mood.

Of course, given that I nearly fell asleep in the elevator, perhaps I should not be baking.
