So, A. and I are currently writing Aalterdam VI. The working title of the two rounds are "The Furnace" and "The Forge." The Furnace is set in a prison of the Baritarian (Spanish-esque) Inquisition, who follow a lawful evil-ish fire goddess. So the question is, does the title "The Furnace" have bad Holocaust associations? It's certainly not intended to; there are no real Jewish-equivalents in this game or world currently, and the fire goddess worshipers hate _everyone_ who doesn't worship their goddess. But we'd change the title if it seems offensive to folks.

I wouldn't have made the association if you hadn't pointed it out, so I think you're fine.

Neither would I - I think it's fine too. But thank you for asking!

By the way, I love those two things as matching titles. One is destructive, one is constructive.

Yes, that was rather the idea. We thought of "Out of the Frying Pan" and "Into the Fire," but that seemed too cliche and the first round has nothing to do with cooking.

And I initially liked "Fear and Surprise," but A. nixed it.

As a worshipper of Stereotypical Ba'al, I am incensed that you mock the moloch in which we burn babies!

(Which is to say, you might be able to tweak the imagery slightly to head in the direction of Phoenicia rather than Germany. A few mentions near the beginning could reduce the likelihood of people making other associations, as well as the likelihood of anyone suspecting malicious intent on your part.)
