Would it be possible for Bionic Woman to get more slashy? The smoldering look between Sarah and Jaime post-fight beats Xena and Gabrielle for post-fight hormones. Plus, what can you do with lines like: "You and me we need to stick together. Maybe form a union." Also, I loved this exchange:

Sarah: I'm going to go lay down on a sidewalk and die.
Jaime: Aren't you being a little over dramatic?
Sarah: I don't think so. I just got told by the one person who can save my life that she's got better things to do. So that feels pretty dramatic to me. Not that I can feel anything, but I can intellectually imagine that it is, in fact, quite dramatic.

Unfortunately, the show itself isn't improving, except for Katee Sackhoff, who is just glorious here.

Wow. That's a great description. The book is not without any merit, but... SO contrived and with lots of dull/stupid stuff.

Oh, bummer. I had been looking forward to reading Empire of Ivory! I'll probably do it anyway, but...oh well.

I actually enjoyed it. Some of the plot mechanics come off fairly simplistic; also I admit I did do a little skimming from time to time, but then again I usually do the same with "real" Napoleonic naval-type stuff anyway, so...

Possibly I'm just easily amused. :)

Without wanting to offer spoilers, I'll just say that the real problem is that the cool thing for me about the Temeraire books for me is Napoleonic warfare and society, with dragons, whereas the cool thing to Novik appears to be "look at all the different ways dragons function in different societies." The disparity is problematic.
