Happy Thing of Day

I'm still in kinda grumpy mode- currently not helped by the wails from Mac's room of "I want to read the story! Mommy, I want a book!"
He got three long stories ([livejournal.com profile] retsuko, he's still obsessed with Sheep in a Jeep and wanted it twice, which was also refused), and a song, but, well, he's into testing his limits.

Happy Thing:
This is a cute little YA story by Sarah Rees Brennan entitled "An Old-Fashioned Unicorn's Guide to Courtship," about a princess and her accountant. It's not great art, but it cheered me up.

I'd be happy to read Mac Sheep in a Jeep over the phone some time. I have a copy... but I also have it mostly memorized. My little brother was really hooked on it once.

We may take you up on that, as really, we read it often enough. :)

Wow, I only hope the one I got him this year will be as successful.

But, yeah, for you and your sanity's sake, I hope he went to bed OK.

Oh yeah, he quieted down after a while. Meanwhile, 10 in the bed is now missing its last two pages, which is kinda sad...I have to make it up because otherwise it ends with "I'm cold! I miss you!"

But yeah; you had an awesome instinct for picking adored books...I think he likes how rhythmic they are?
