In a sentence:
"I don't know why more people don't watch this show. It's so _fun._" --Jacob, of TWOP.

That was, for the record, meant sarcastically. I mean, yes, this was always the tv series willing to kill millions of people in its opening moments, including babies, but...people still used to enjoy themselves occasionally, y'know? There were, um, dances...and triad games, and the Wonder Twins doing daring piloty feats. And the sheer amusing wackiness of Baltar and HeadSix. And now...well, yes, I get why they're all angsting, but...
I said to [livejournal.com profile] ladybird97 last night, "You know the various LARPs that have as a point trying to really push the PCs to their psychological breaking points and get them to explore their inner traumas? You know how those sorts of games aren't so much my style?"

Yeah. If you like angsty inner depths, you'll love "Sometimes a Great Notion." But some of us would kind of like some reason to remember why we love all these characters.

I have to say, my experience playing the BSG board game -- which is great, by the way -- really helps with this. If anything, it feels like they're whining too little.

Wait, who are the Wonder Twins?

Apollo and Starbuck. It's a popular fanname for them.

Back in the terrible days before Leverage and when Burn Notice was on haiatus (until tonight), there was a time when Chris and I looked at each other and said, "It's sort of sad that 'House' is the feel-good TV of our week."

So, yeah.

Although, to paraphrase another friend, it's good and all, but what with all the breaks, I just don't care as much as I would have.

I'm still way back in Season 3.5, but this is exactly how we feel about BSG. I like it, and want to know how it turns out, but can only handle maybe one episode on a really good mood day.
