First, an amusing quote from teaching the other day:
Me: "Actually, I've traveled across the Sinai Peninsula. It takes about 15 hours by bus."
Student: "Was that when it was under Israel's control?"
Me: "Well, um, that ended in 1979, so I would have been a little young to go adventuring at that point."
Mac's been a little bit of a trial lately, with daily tantrums and lack of cooperation. So it's worth remembering that he can be really sweet sometimes too. The other night, when I was trying to put him to bed, he kicked out hard against my abdomen, which is, um, a little sensitive these days. "Ow, I said, "Be careful, or you'll hurt Mommy and your little brother."
Mac immediately put his hand to his head, which I hadn't realized had been bumped during the incident. "Mommy, I want ice for my head! Make it feel better!"
So his Dad went and got him an ice cube in a paper towel. Mac held it to his head for a few seconds, and then pressed it against my stomach. "Mommy, I got ice make your belly feel better!"
This morning, shortly after waking up, I was greeted with the demand, "Mommy, sing Muppet Show song! Now!" :)
