Happy birthday to [profile] hellpossum, [profile] lisa_bee, and [profile] a_dodecahedron! Happy Megalesia to all of you - the festival of Cybele, the Magna Mater! May there be music and yummy food awaiting you, but hopefully not the ritual sacrifice of male genitalia on an altar.

And for those who celebrate it, have a wonderful first Seder of Pesach today, full of yummy food and stories.

Me: "So tonight, we get to have a special meal and hear a special story, which it's important that we remember."
Mac: "Can Thomas be in the story?"
Me: "I don't really think Thomas the Tank Engine was ever a slave in Egypt."
Mac: "Thomas or a spaceship is in the story."

That of course, made me think of _The Life of Brian._ :)

hee hee hee. I love how absolutely certain he is about it :)

I guess it's not a REALLY special story unless it has Thomas or a spaceship!

I thought of Mac today in the lecture for psych 101, which I'm TAing. The professor said something like, "Babies are attached to their parents because of the physical comfort they provide. That's why small children have soft comfort objects like blankets or pillows. You don't see them taking dump trucks to bed!"

Humph. Little does he know! And nobody better compare me to a dump truck! :)

Aww come on, we'll only be comparing you to a dump truck for the next, oh, 2 months or so...

If spaceships and Egypt are the order of the day, perhaps it's time to introduce Mac to the works of Erich von Daniken.

I have "Gods from Outer Space", if you want to borrow it.
