orichalcum at 01:47pm on 22/10/2004As some of you may know, BC'04's big new ad, which will be widely shown, is called "Wolves" and features wolves running through a snowy forest as a metaphor for the terrorists who will sneak in and hunt us down if we elect John Kerry.
As a wolf fan, I'd really like to object. North American wolves are virtually harmless to humans - yes, they can kill livestock, but we've really got the superior advantage here in firepower, folks. There aren't nearly enough of them. Furthermore, wolves take care of true menaces like coyotes. European wolves, who were dangerous to humans, were hunted almost to extinction several hundred years ago. Wolves are beautiful, intelligent, resourceful amoral pack animals. If you want to run an ad about preying on the vulnerable, try "Vultures."
