The above is sad, as it's an in-joke, and not even _my_ injoke, but nonetheless expresses the way I feel - like a paladin who, in order to enter the Temple of the Goddess of Disease, has been turned into a tapeworm, and is very, very, very, cold with intermittent bits of going inside to warmness.
Plus, I missed lunch with my friend due to a 1.45 hour long OB/GYN appt of which about ten minutes was actually seeing the doctor, as opposed to waiting, and those ten minutes included the fun of sitting in a cold room in a paper gown entirely open in the front, having cold metal things stuck inside of me.
Soon to come -frantic dissertation work and revision, and T.A.ing the first class for a professor I've never met, and where I have never seen a syllabus, before rushing home for groceries.
Oh, and I got rejected by Johns Hopkins. No other news on jobs.

And *hug* I'm sorry about Johns Hopkins. Rejections always hurt. But even so...was it really the kind of teaching atmosphere that you wanted?
*hug* Hang in there! Remember that the house, it is yours, and it will be yours again! I hope your day and your week get better soon!

Thanks for making me giggle...
I think you should really work for "Devoted (Family Member), Friend, and Tapeworm."

How about "He failed to realistically portray a sentient tapeworm"?
(Sorry to hear about bad job news. That and the OB/GYN on the same day is really a double-whammy.)
