So, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee's website has this current comment about the whole filibuster "nuclear option" thingy:
"The Republicans want to shut down the entire United States Senate because of ten right-wing lawyers. Each one of them, of course, is a right-wing activist--with legal and political views three steps to the right of Atilla the Hun. "
Now beyond minor details like spelling Attila the Hun's name right, this seems like a fairly odd comparison. Surely these right-wing activist judges have no particular desire to sack large cities, plunder, and burn, nor are they, as far as I know, subscribers to the Arian heresy. I mean, maybe they're going for a "Might Makes Right" sort of thing here, but Attila was known for adminstering justice equally to people of high and low station.
Not to mention that it's kind of offensive to people of Hungarian descent.
