From a Classics Mailing List:

:A slight contretemps today as I was walking down Kensington Church
Street. There was a man coming the other way wearing a T-shirt with
the slogan 'Si hoc legere scis, nimium eruditionis habes.'
Me (pleasantly): 'Sic, possum.'
Man (furiously): 'Oi! Wot yer callin me?'

It turned out that he had bought it from a charity shop." --Ralph Hancock

Heh. When Elizabeth was studying in China, one of her friends had a funny shirt made up in Mandarin. Apparently there are large parts of the country where foreigners (espec Caucasians) are such an uncommon sight that merely walking into a room can cause quite a stir. Anyways, the front of the shirt had characters for "The Foreigner Has Arrived" and the back read "The Foreigner Is Leaving". :)
