7 AM: Wake up, come say good morning to the family.
7:15 AM: Dad takes me for a big long walk.
8 AM: Breakfast with the family. Mom and Dad tear up bits of food and give it to me and the baby.
8:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Play with Mom, curl up near her while she works.
12:30 - 1 PM: Lunch with family!
1 PM - 6 PM: Curl up under Mom's feet while she works, or play with Mom and baby.
6-7 PM: Dinner! Make sure I'm getting as much of the yummy food as the baby, and remind my parents when I'm not.
7 PM: Nice long walk with Mom.
7:30 PM- 10 PM: Baby is asleep! Mom and Dad aren't working! Now they can focus on playing with me! Time for catch and rope-pulling and tummy-rubbing!
10 PM: Brief walk with Mom or Dad.
10:30 PM - go to sleep.

In real life, things are a little different. Just because we're tearing up food for the baby doesn't mean it's for her. In fact, there are things we'd like to do between 7 and 10 PM other than throw the ball for her. Sometimes the walks aren't precisely on schedule. We need to figure out how to get Eowyn to manage her expectations somehow, because right now, she's being very demanding, and barks madly when we deviate from "her schedule."

Some recent sweet moments with Mac:

Yesterday, I heard him squawking for attention, although not in an upset way, from inside his playzone. I went into the room to discover that he had stuck a stuffed duck, attached to a ribbon, partially inside his mouth. He toddled towards me, mumbling "Mama! Gaak!" and clearly expecting some sort of response. Since he didn't seem to be choking, I just stood there, saying, "OK." Finally, after about fifteen seconds, he reached up, pulled the duck out of his mouth with an exasperated look, turned to me, and said, "CUTE!"

On the very bad Monday, I got a slice of chocolate cake as part of my takeout order. Mac was eating something different, but saw me open the corner of that box to check it. Immediately, he straightened, and pointed to the box. "Mah!" "Mah!" As soon as I gave him a bite, he made his sound of extreme gustatory pleasure, "Mmyummumumm." Apparently, from further tests, he can smell chocolate from three feet away. Tonight, we're taking him with [livejournal.com profile] julianyap to the all-you-can-eat chocolate buffet at the Peninsula. I predict much glee.

Julian taught him how to climb onto his little push'n-ride wagon all by himself yesterday, and then, while pushing him, said "Say Beep Beep." Mac immediately repeated back, "Beep Beep!" and proceeded to echo Julian as they wheeled around the room. Later, he tried to climb up Julian to his lap. I think he really likes him. :)

Other words that he's at least echoed in the last few days are "radish", "three," and "please."
