Insert a Zombie!
So, I missed this game when it was actually running, er...stumbling along, but I like the concept enough to perpetuate it here.
The rules are simple - it's much like the old dress rehearsal "banana" game:
In a passage of 250 words or less from some work of classic literature, prose or poetry, insert a zombie. You can see examples at the site above.
The night Max wore his zombie suit and made mischief of one kind, and another,
his mother called him "Zombie!", and Max said "I'll eat your brains!!!"
so he was sent to his bed without eating anything.
That very night in Max’s room a graveyard grew,
And grew,
And grew until his ceiling hung with spiderwebs and the walls became
The gravestones all around.
And an ocean tumbled by with a private boat for Max and he sailed off through night and day and in and out of weeks
And almost over a year to where the wild zombies are.
And when he came to the place where the wild zombies are
They groaned their terrible groans
And clacked their terrible jaws
And groped with their terrible arms
Till Max said “Be Still!”
And tamed them with a magic trick of staring into all their glowing eyes
Without blinking once and they were frightened and called him the most wild zombie of all,
And made him king of all zombies.
And now, cried Max, “Let the zombie parade start.”
“Now stop,” Max said, and sent the zombies off to bed without their brains,
and Max the king of all zombies was lonely, and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all.
And all around from far away across the world he smelled brains to eat,
So he gave up being king of where the zombies are…
And sailed back home and into the night of his very own room
Where he found his brains waiting for him,
And they were still mushy.

I pray thee, gentle mortal, sing again:
Mine ear is much enamour'd of thy note;
So is mine eye enthralled to thy shape;
And thy fair virtue's force perforce doth move me
On the first view to say, to swear, I love thee.
