I don't get it--isn't this ad going to be rather offputting to a lot of his base? Or is this a limited release, good-ole-boys-only ad?
I particularly like how they read the honor code aloud--wrong. Why did they feel the need to change the word "will" into "shall", while showing the words with "will" on the screen?
First off, I love how the commercial is too chicken to name a real rock star and settles for a generic person whose face we cannot see holding an electric guitar.
And I love the blowing "smoke" or ribbon or whatever the heck it is that ripples all the way through.
Overall, it reminds me greatly of a kid's run for class president his junior year of High School. As I do not want a 16-year-old obsessed with the honor code to be our president, I will take my vote elsewhere.
I dunno, I'm feeling like the whole thing is as much an ad for Mr. Whatshisname's nomination as teacher of the year. It's not even that clear through most of the ad that it is really an ad for McCain.
